Singing in a karaoke bar is one thing, but being able to do it surrounded by your friends at home is even more fun. You don’t have to wait for your turn in line, and you have ultimate control over which songs are played. If you consider yourself a karaoke party person, then you need the right machine to bring your musical sessions to life. While an individual singer might have more modest singing needs, true party people need to have the best equipment at their side. This is where the Singing Machine STVG999 Pedestal Karaoke Machine comes into play. It is definitely one of the best systems on the market, and and it comes at an affordable price that eventually pays for itself after just a few great singing sessions. It represents a new direction in home karaoke entertainment, and you’re bound to fall in love with its array of features.

The Singing Machine STVG999 Pedestal isn’t the type of home karaoke system that you would traditionally think of. In fact, it resembles a set up similar to what you would find in a professional bar. It’s a standing pedestal system that is a self-contained singing station, and your guests can take turns individually or everyone can gather around it at the same time. It comes with two separate side speakers in position it anywhere you like. With the right set up, you can get full surround sound if you also hook it up to your home entertainment system. You can choose to connect it to your television as well so that you can see the lyrics, but also comes with a full-screen display built into the mainframe itself. That means you can get everything up and running in minutes out-of-the-box, or you can spend about 45 minutes coming up with the right physical set up that matches your party style.

One of the downsides of the system is that it still uses a traditional CDG karaoke CD format. It would be nice if it could incorporate newer iPod compatibility that comes with many newer systems. But it’s not a problem that can’t be solved by buying a great collection of karaoke CDs so that everyone at your party will have something that they can enjoy.

This machine boasts other features you’ll love including a video camera to record your performances. You can also hook it up to your television to create a real of visual experience for your parties. With the right lighting, a disco ball, and maybe even a smoke machine, there’s no telling how immersive your experience can be. This machine also has the ability to improve your performance in case your voice is a bit shaky. You’ll love the way you can play around with echo and auto-tune using all of your favorite songs. This allows newcomers to join in on the action without having to worry about keeping up with others. You can even create your own CDs to show off your friends or to help you improve your own voice. And with the ability to separate music and vocals, you’ll have an even greater degree of control to come up with the best sound possible.

This model is definitely more expensive than a standard karaoke machine, but you get what you pay for in terms of overall quality. It’s better to spend more money off the bat anyways in order to get a product that will last you well into the future.

If you are a man then you most likely shave almost every day or at least try to keep your beard well groomed. Shaving is a big part of a man’s life, which is why it’s important to learn a few tricks and tips to help you get a better shave and less skin problems.

First Tip

One of the most important tips when it comes to shaving is using the right shaving products for men for your skin type. This means using a shaving razor and shaving cream that is suitable for your skin. Men with sensitive skin will most likely enjoy a comfortable shave with razors that have fewer blades. Many men with sensitive skin also comment that using a safety razor to shave is also ideal for this skin type.

When it comes to finding a great shaving cream you must also take into consideration your skin type. Men with dry skin should find a thick shaving cream which will help moisturize your facial skin. Men with sensitive skin should try using unscented shaving creams or one that contains natural ingredients. Of course there are many skin types, so be sure to take your time to search for a shaving cream that is best for you, shopping online is easy, fast and affordable as well because you can find great prices.

Second Tip

Another shaving tip does not have to do with your shaving routine but instead about mens skin care. Taking care of your skin before and after shaving is very important. Before you shave you should use a face wash or face cleanser and if you have thick facial hair use a face wash that will also exfoliate. There are also many pre shaving products such as pre shaving oil which can help lube your face and protect you from irritation that can be caused during your shave.

When you finish shaving be sure to moisturize your skin, if you have oily skin then buy a moisturizer that is oil free and will give you a matte finish. You can find several great moisturizers online that contain UV protection too.

Third Tip

Last but not least, another important tip is to NOT start your shaving by shaving against the grain. Instead you should start by shaving in the direction of the hair growth. Not all your facial hair grows in the same direction and this varies from man to man. Pay close attention and start by shaving with the grain. When you finish cleaning up, apply some more shaving cream and then you can either shave across the grain or against the grain on the third pass. How many passes you do depends on how sensitive your skin is, if you have very sensitive skin then only do up to 2 passes and be sure to follow the other tips above.

Enjoying the perfect shave is easy and it doesn’t take you hours in the bathroom. Once you’ve got the right products you will see a great improvement in the outcome of your shave, to start you will eliminate razor bumps, razor burn and ingrown hairs. That in itself is enough reason to pay a little bit more attention to this daily chore.

Beauty regimens may come easy to some, but can be a total headache for others. This article outlines how to get rid of wrinkles under eyes, sagging skin and many other annoying aging problems to help you maintain ideal beauty and health as you age through the years. Gradually incorporate these tips into your normal everyday routine in order to reap the benefits as soon as possible.

My first recommendation for maintaining ideal beauty is to apply a bit of petroleum jelly on your eyebrows before you go to sleep. The jelly will strengthen the hair in your brows, making them look shiny and more noticeable. Petroleum jelly can cause your skin to breakout with acne, so try not to get it elsewhere on your face.

A daily application of petroleum jelly is also great for making your feet and toes soft. Petroleum jelly is the base of many expensive skin softeners and you can save yourself a lot of money by purchasing just the plain, no-name-brand jelly. Several times a week, apply petroleum jelly to the bottoms of your feet and this will help your feet stay soft and smooth, even through harsh winter weather.

Treat facial skin gently, never rubbing or stretching it. This applies both to cleaning your face and applying products, and just rubbing your eyes or scratching an itchy spot. Your skin will age faster when you rub your face a lot. Instead of rubbing or stretching skin, always use a soft cloth to pat skin dry.

Skin blemishes can pop up when we least expect them, and don’t have all the tools near by to manage them. One unusual but effective tip is to use a dab of toothpaste to battle any blemish that appears on your skin. Leave it there for around ten minutes and the gently wipe any excess off with lukewarm water. Following this tip can help reduce the size of the pimple significantly.

One personal gripe I have with many people’s attempts to look beautiful is wearing sunglasses. Sunglasses can add to or subtract from one’s attractiveness. People need to decide for themselves whether sunglasses enhance or take away from their look. Questions such as, “Do I actually need them?”, should be considered in the decision making process.

Attending to your personal appearance will require some effort on your part. A lot of time also needs to be spent on practice and research, but it will be time well spent. If you following the advice from this article, people will notice how beautiful and confident you will become. Remember that the best eye wrinkle treatment, moisturizer, or any other anti aging treatment will be far more effective if you combine it with the effective solutions listed in the above article.

Hydroponics is a modern home gardening method that’s slowly becoming more popular. The idea of growing plants without messy soil is simply too tempting for homeowners, especially among those who live in enclosed residential structures like apartments. A few years back, the only way you could grow greens under this setting was by purchasing aerial plants. But because of hydroponics growing, you can now grow almost any land-grown plant you can think of – without soil, that is.

Growing plants in the absence of soil is not new to science. As a matter of fact, hydroponics gardening is used for biology research. For the past few years, scientists have been promoting hydroponics through vertical farming. They propose that instead of allowing agricultural lands to continue expanding just to meet demand for food, farms can be placed in skyscrapers. And the only way this was possible was through hydroponics. Even though hydroponics offers great possibilities, we can’t deny that it’s also a great alternative for homeowners who wish to cultivate plants even if they don’t have a garden.

For homeowners, hydroponics gardening has a lot of perks and advantages. One of them is the fact that they don’t need a backyard to cultivate plants. People who live in apartments, condos, and other enclosed buildings can now cultivate plants at their convenience. Growing plants with hydroponics is also more economical compared to planting on soil. Expect water bills to go down since there’ll be no more soil to suck most of the water used to nourish them. Very little water is needed to sustain plants grown with hydroponics. You also don’t need to spend extra on soil fertilizers and pesticides with hydroponics gardening making it even more economical. The nutrients artificially introduced to water are much cheaper than fertilizers, natural or chemical.

Stable and abundant yields are also expected from hydroponics. It is a great way to grow vegetables if you want to harvest plenty of produce. You can also benefit from a healthier diet since you can eat the produce that you grow with hydroponics gardening. They are guaranteed to be organic and pesticide free since you grew them yourself. Another perk of growing your own vegetables is that you get to save money. Farm grown vegetables are expensive so it would really help if you just grew your own. Whenever your hydroponic grown produce get pests or disease, there’s little to worry about too. The absence of soil makes it easier to remove them.

There are some people who can actually get lost in their closet due to all the stuff that is inside of it. If you have trouble finding your clothes or shoes in your bedroom closet, you definitely want to consider organizing the closet so you know exactly where everything is. This can work for small closets when you need every inch of space possible or even for large closets that just don’t seem to have any specific flow to them.

Here are some tips for organizing your bedroom closet.

First, if you really want some organization to your closet, you may have to spend some money on items that will help you out. For example you may have to buy a shoe rack for the bottom of your closet or another closet rod to hang more clothes on. This will all depend what type of closet you have and what you want to do with it.

Before you go out and buy another closet rod, sit down and try to sketch out some ideas for your closet. What would your dream closet look like? Just remember that you are working with the closet space you already have and to be realistic about it. Be sure to include areas in your closet blueprint for all of your items from your shoes to your dresses. If you really want to make a detailed blueprint you can even take the measurements of your closet and make it to scale.

Need some extra closet space? This looks WAY too familiar!!!

If you are stuck on what to do in your closet, then start with your shoes. There are several shoe storage ideas that you can pull inspiration from. There are shoe racks that can be placed on the floor of the closet and then there are hanging shoe bags that can be hung from the closet rod. Or you could utilize a shelf you already have in your closet for your shoes.

If you are still really having trouble coming up with the best organization setup for your closet, check out the pre-made closet organizers that you can buy. Sometimes these can be a good start to your organization and may work to help you get an idea of what your closet should look like. For some other people, though these don’t work that well because they don’t utilize the space as nicely as they could, but they may still help give you some inspiration.

Lastly, take all your clothes, shoes and accessories out of your closet and purge anything you won’t every wear again. This is a great way to kick off a better organized closet. Then organize piles by either seasons or types of clothing and accessories. This part is up to you depending on how you like things organized. This will make it easier to place the items back into the closet in an organized fashion.

Try not to make your organization more complex than it should be. A simply closet rod, some shelves and maybe a shoe rack should be sufficient for most closets.

Years ago, when we were looking for a new house to move into, we realized that we might have to compromise a bit. This compromise came in the form of a yard that needed a major overhaul. The sellers of the house loved their privacy. To ensure that no one would disturb them, the surrounded their home with a wall of pine trees and overgrown bridal wreath spirea bushes. We were excited to get our new home, and our minds were filled with glorious backyard landscaping ideas! We spent most of a summer cleaning up what we could, and then spent a few thousand more dollars having professionals remove what we couldn’t handle ourselves. It gave us an interesting perspective on backyard renovations and yard work!

Some people look at backyard design as an unwelcome necessity, while others enjoy the opportunity to get their hands dirty. It depends on the size of the job, but there is potentially a lot of work involved. If you’re an absolute beginner, it’s important to enjoy the process while realizing you might need a bit of help. Far too many people take on more than they can handle and end up spending more money than they should. In worst case scenarios, a backyard renovation can last for months or even years due to mistakes made along the way. There’s no reason why you can’t have an impressive backyard that you can be proud of, so if renovations are in your future, pay attention to some of these common mistakes.

Planning a Budget – it’s important to plan out how much money you’re willing to spend and factor in just a few dollars more. It’s likely that you’re going to go over budget in some form or another, but it’s best to be prepared rather than ignore this fact. You also have to think about where the money is going to come from. Taking out a huge loan to do an unnecessary renovation is never a good idea no matter how tempting it might be. Make sure that you can finance your renovation and justify doing it right now.

Gutting the Whole Backyard – some people aren’t exactly sure where to start, or they might want to work with a clean slate. But gutting out your whole backyard might be a huge mistake that will take you months to recover from. You might have elements that you regret eliminating, and there could be things you can expand upon rather than throwing them away. Think carefully before you make a dramatic change like this. Unless you have laid out an entire, larger plan for your backyard, and have locked in a price, you may want to consider taking things in smaller steps. Even small backyard landscaping ideas can get expensive when you are just making things up as you go along.

Too Trendy – one of the most common mistakes is aiming for trendy backyard in line with the fashion of the times. But it’s important to remember what might happen a few years down the line. If you’re backyard and patio is too trendy, it might look a little bit ridiculous in the future. Everything involved in home improvement and renovations is usually circular, and sticking with tradition is always the safest bet.

A ruby throated hummingbird grabbing a quick snack!

Not in Style with Your Home – it’s important to match your backyard renovations to the overall decor and theme of your home. It might be tempting to go in an entirely new direction, but you don’t want to feel like you’re walking onto someone else’s property once you step into your own backyard. Think about how you can enhance the style already established by your home without deviating from it completely.

Ignoring Safety – aesthetics are important with home and garden matters, but so are practical elements as well. When you come up with your designs and start to implement your overall plan, you should remember basic safety factors as well. You never want to find yourself in a position where you have cornered your barbecue gas grills into a spot surrounded by wood, rendering it unsafe for use.

Hiring the Right People – some simple gardening jobs can be handled quite easily, but it’s important to realize when to ask for help. People often make the mistake of trying to do everything in order to save money, or possibly because they are just too stubborn. Some more involved jobs definitely need the help of a contractor, and it’s always worthwhile to interview as many as you can. Make sure to comparison shop and ask as many questions until you feel comfortable with the right person.

You may have noticed that I like to drink coffee. We are continuing the coffee theme today with a look at how to use a French press to make coffee. I’m sure I’m not the only one who didn’t know how to use one of these when I first got it. No kitchen is complete without a French press, it’s a great way to make coffee and has a beautifully elegant design. Oh, and they make phenomenal coffee that cannot be matched by other coffee makers.

Bamboo can grow as quickly as 24 inches in a single day. It can thrive without fertilizers and pesticides. Bamboo cultivation helps to improve the soil. Moreover bamboo is a faster recycler of carbon than trees, so by buying bamboo you not only potentially reduce consumer demand for trees, but also encourage the growth of a resource which is ideal to combat rising carbon levels in the atmosphere.

To move on to bamboo gifts, here is my list of bamboo gifts for the family to perhaps give you some help with your last minute shopping.

1) Bamboo charcoal soap makes a great present for mum or for any sibling that might suffer from acne. The bamboo charcoal in the soap is highly absorbent and helps to draw out the dirt from the pores of the skin. This helps to remove the build-up of dirt under the sensitive skin under the eyes that causes bags. The thorough cleaning without chemicals that is provided makes bamboo charcoal soap useful for treating acne.
2) For any environmentally minded student in the family a fantastic bamboo present is a bamboo laptop. ASUS offers powerful notebook computers that have a bamboo casing that reduces the use of plastics by 15%.
3) If dad is a keen gardener, then bamboo seeds or small bamboo plants are one option. Another is bamboo charcoal. The charcoal can be broken into small pieces and mixed in with soil as an organic fertilizer and pesticide.
4) Another good idea is a bamboo plant holder or a bamboo hammer water feature. It is so much more aesthetically pleasing to use natural materials for the garden than plastics.
5) For anyone in the family that looks run down bamboo vinegar foot detox patches might be just the thing. The bamboo vinegar in the patches draw out toxins from the body while a person sleeps. Detoxifying regularly is a good way to stay healthy and full of vim.
6) Lucky bamboo isn’t actually bamboo, but looks like bamboo. It is considered lucky by the Chinese because it contains all five elements that are needed according to feng shui to bring harmony. Giving lucky bamboo to someone about to take exams or someone setting up their own business might just give them that edge that they need to succeed.

As you can see from the above list, there is plenty of variety to bamboo gifts. The great thing about bamboo is that it is naturally antimicrobial and antibacterial and so it completely safe for the home and garden. Bamboo charcoal is highly absorbent and can be placed in a home to remove bad smells and control humidity levels. The more you learn about bamboo the more you realize how fascinating it is, and how suitable it is for making gifts.

When I first went to Thailand in 1997 it was a very cheap country. Accommodation, food and transport only cost a few dollars and it was never very difficult to find cheap deals for things.

People in Thailand are very friendly and if you are patient and don’t lose your temper you can usually get a discount or the same price as the locals. Things have changed in Thailand though. Let this short post serve as a basic Thailand travel guide and introduction to Thailand culture before you head off on vacation. The major change since the late nineties is that costs have risen dramatically. This is partly due to the increase in oil prices, but mostly because tourists are paying over-inflated prices for things without blinking an eyelid.

The result is a triple pricing system that exists in many tourist destinations. There is the real price that Thai people pay, there is the friend of a Thai price, and there is the tourist price which is often 50% more than the real price. Just being aware of this system can save you money on your Thailand vacation. I often get a Thai person to buy me a drink at a bar. Admittedly, I buy him or her a drink as well so don’t make any saving, but pride is salvaged. On a more serious note, learning a few words of Thai, especially numbers will quickly pay dividends in reduced prices, as will stopping to make small talk with the locals.

If you are planning to travel to Thailand, there is another thing that you should keep in mind. There are thousands of tour companies in Thailand. Every hostel, hotel and resort in Thailand seems to have a ticket desk. Sometimes they take their commission from the transport company; more often they take it from you. Travel on local buses or go direct to the transport company for a better price.

Phu Chee Fah, Chiangrai, Thailand

The same goes for booking rooms in Koh Samui, Koh Phangan, Bangkok, Phuket or any destination in Thailand. Except for at Christmas it is cheaper just to arrive at a place and find a room. Don’t book through the internet as you are paying a middle man fee, no matter what they will tell you otherwise. Many bungalow places and even hotels are open to negotiation over room rates, especially during the low season. If you are planning on staying a month you can often get a monthly rate which offers a much better daily rate.

Finally, to save money in Thailand you should avoid places where tourists go to eat.

Using coupons is a great way to save money as they act, in effect, as a form of currency. Being organized then, is essential if you want to make sure that the time you spend clipping and organizing the redeemable papers is well-spent. If you have never really tried using coupons when you visit the store, give it a shot. Once you see how much money you can save, couponing may actually become a fun new hobby for you!

Intro to Couponing for Beginners Video

Here is a very good introduction to couponing video that I thought I’d share. I like this lady because she is serious, but not extreme. I’d love to be an extreme couponer at some point, but not just yet. I really like her point about how much she spends on Sunday papers compared to how much she saves. Her tips about using printable coupons are also very good. I’ve got to do more of that.
